Disney star Selena Gomez has been confirmed as the host of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards. The 19-year-old is set to follow in the footsteps of past presenters including Katy Perry and Eva Longoria when she hosts the ceremony in Belfast. Selena will also help out on the digital front, engaging with fans on Twitter and sharing behind-the-scenes gossip. Justin Bieber's girlfriend said in a statement: "I'm so excited to be the host of the 2011 MTV EMAs - it's a dream come true!" Selena added: "This is such a huge event that always recognises the biggest stars in music from across the globe, so it's a real honour to be MC at this year's show." Lady Gaga leads the EMA nominations, with Katy Perry and Adele also receiving multiple nods. The MTV Europe Music Awards are due to air live from Belfast's Odyssey Arena on November 6.
